Javanese
cats are highly intelligent and, being very social cats they can become depressed if they are left alone too often.
Javanese
cats are generally very playful pets, and are markedly good at jumping. However, they do have a tendency to become overweight if they do not receive adequate exercise.
Javanese
cats are also quite vocal, and most will "talk" for no particular reason.
The Javanese cat has the typical Siamese
cat features of an elegant, angular, drawn out body, a wedge-shaped head,
large ears and blue eyes.
They only differ from the Siamese in that they
have a long, silky coat and, from the Balinese Cat, in the colors of that coat.
The Javanese Cat has no connection with
Java and the name has different meanings in different regions:
In Britain (UK), long-haired Oriental cats, originally bred to recreate the
Angora, are now known as Javanese cats.
In the United States of America, long-haired Siamese Cats
are called; Balinese - if they show one
of the four basic Siamese color point patterns (Seal, Chocolate, Blue , or
Lilac) and Javanese - if they show any other color pattern.
