Cat Toys

Cat Toys For Healthy Play And Exercise.

Cats kept mainly indoors should be compensated for their loss of natural hunting instincts by providing them with suitable cat toys and preferably joining and playing with them.

While there are numerous small cat toys available in the local stores it is often the most simple of home made cat toys can keep your cat active and attentive for long periods of time. A cat toy made from a simple piece of string with a furry item, feather, ball or twisted paper on the end dangled or pulled around will tempt hunting instincts of most cats and, preferably involve you with your pet.

One area of caution though! Just because your cat exhibits exceptional acrobatic tactics in chasing and jumping for these form of cat toys don't do as some silly folk do and forever tempt the cat to perform more and more extremes by jumping up for the cat toy.

Cats certainly have a wonderful muscular system but can and, certainly with older cats, hurt themselves if pushed to far leaping up and around to catch such a cat toy. If you love your cat then let commonsense apply and be firm likewise with children who may innocently be tempted to exert itself beyond reason in attempting to jump high and twisting to cat the cat toy.

While some suggest that dogs are more loyal than cats this writer, from experience, knows that happy, healthy cats can establish a very strong bonding with their owners.  With the right treatment your cat or cats can come to adore you. They will come when called, play with you and cuddle up providing love and devotion.
